Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Was having an itchiness in vagina with light discharge figured it was a yeast infection so I washed with only water and dried thoroughly. Two days after, I received my period still had the itchiness period went off and I have no discharge but my outer vagina is slightly ticklish/itchy. Not as unbearable as a yeast infection but noticeable and annoying. I ve been keeping hydrated and not eating anything with sugar or carbs. Could the yeast be gone and the itchiness is just the remnants of it?
Hello dear user of HCM! Thank you for sharing your concerns with us!
Have you done any test of your secretions until now? If you haven't done it yet I would recommend you a vaginal discharge or secretions analysis to rule out any possible infection. Itching over vulva area may vary due to the grade and type of infection. It may be caused by some allergic condition too.
After you get the results of the test, we will be able to understand more, and treat it properly. Meanwhile you keep a good hygiene, wear cotton underwear and keep it dry.
I hope you will be fine soon. Take care and all the best! DR ERIOL.
