General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think it may come due to the medications he is taking. Chemotherapy drugs, Zofran and Corticosteroids may give hiccups. Also, calcium levels can be controlled.

Elevated calcium levels can cause muscle contractions and leads spasms of diaphragm and racing heart. Can levels are elevated in myeloma.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
