What Causes Constant Headache With General Weakness?

Hello. I have been having headaches recently that won't go away even with iboprofuen. It seems to get aggravatde with light and sound . My eyes get a little red (the veins in my eyes stand out and my eyes look really tired). My face also looks a bit puffy and I feel weak in general mostly. Please advise.

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms could be related to migraine.

Is your headache throbbing? What is your age?

What are your actual blood pressure values? Uncontrolled high blood pressure could lead to persistent headaches.

I recommend consulting with a neurologist for a careful physical examination and some blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate, blood electrolytes, kidney and liver function tests),to exclude other possible causes of headache like chronic anemia and inflammation.

A brain CT scan may be needed, in case of abnormal neurological examination.

Hope to have been helpful!
Greetings,
Dr. Aida
