What Causes Constant Dull Aching Pain In Upper Abdomen Radiating To Back?
I'm having continuous, dull achy pain in the midline upper abdomen that sometimes intensifies and radiate to my back. I'm 10 days post-partum and pain has been present x 3days. Normal, unmedicated vaginal delivery. Hx of near-total splenectomy (with post op splenic vien and portal vein thrombosis 2+ years ago, was tx with anti-coagulants for 6 months and had clear CT scan), mild-moderate h. sperocytosis. I had constant heartburn during the pregnancy, which subsided after the birth. Any dx ideas?

1.The present symptoms can expected in the postpartum patients.
2.But in your case you have history with thrombosis and splenectomy - There are chance to reoccur blockage after pregnancy with blood stasis.
3.One can not take a chance with significant history - If you are my patient i would ask for a doppler study to confirm that all the flows are normal.
4.Suggest to get an appointment as soon as you can get.
5.Gallbladder stone can also expected to give such pain.
