What Causes Constant Discharge From Eyes With Ear Pain?

Hi my daughter age 6 2 days ago had slight fever Yesterday slight ear pain when pressing on ear Today goopy eyes constant discharge from inner eyes Nose is very slightly congested Since her fever broke and isn t complaining about any pain I ve hesitated taking her in to pediatrician since the doctor is very quick to prescribe antibiotics. And she s been on antibiotics several times in her 6 yrs if life that I believe it s ruined her immune system. Now she and her brother both catch colds very easily.

Hi,
Welcome to Hcm,
Your child seems to be having an upper respiratory infection. The infection is causing her nose to block and the eyes water as the connection between nose and ear also gets blocked.
I dont think any antibiotic is needed as of now and I appreciate your view on that. All you need to do is good steam inhalation and nasal drops to remove congestion. If eyes have pus discharge then antibiotic eye drops are warranted. Hope your child gets well soon. Take care.
