What Causes Constant Diarrhea After Taking Metformin And Atorvastatin?
Hello, I was diagnosed as a pre-diabetic which I was prescribed metformin 500 mg for. And I have high cholesterol and I was prescribed atorvastatin 50 mg. I m 21 years old. Taking no other medication and have constant diarrhea. It has been different colors depending on what I eat. Should I stop taking the medicine.

I appreciate your concern for the safety of the prescribed medications. Metformin is known to cause abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Atorvastatin is less likely to cause the above symptoms.
In view of the constant diarrhea apparently caused by Metformin, you are advised to visit your treating doctor to adjust the dose of Metformin.
