What Causes Confusion And Intoxication When On Medication For Graves Disease?

My mother is taking a series of prescription drugs. She has had 2 back surgeries in the last 6 months. She takes lexapro, ambien, ativan, hydrocodone, tylenol pm and another medication for graves disease. We have been continually concerned about the effect on her with all of these being combined. She often shows signs of confusion and intoxication although she has never drank.

Hi,
What is your mother's age ? Medication for grave's disease do not usually cause confusion unless your mother developed hypothyroidism due to treatment. Some times sodium levels in blood can go down as well due to hypothyroidism which adds to confusion.

However, looking at other drugs, Oxycodone and ativan etc are capable of causing confusion in old age. Consider reducing the dose in consultation with your GP
