What Causes Cold With Heart Palpitations?

I have been having alot of stress lately and also trying to get over this kill cold. I have been taking tylenol allergy and sinus each day, the liquid, but haven't gone over the directed amount. Now I am having a slightly irregular heart beat, like, 1, 2, 345, 6, 7, 8, 91011, 12, 13. Something like that. It's kind of scary but isn't producing any symptoms like tired, dizzy, nothing. Should I worry? The heartbeat thing has been going on for about a day, the cold is almost gone now so I stopped with the meds. Thanks, Matthew

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The feeling of cold associated with palpitations is commonly due to exposure to cold weather, anemia, hypotension or even dehydration.

For sinus, get X-Ray PNS done and get treated, you may need decongestants, antihistamines, antibiotics & analgesics.

You have an arrhythmia, get physically examined by a cardiologist. Arrhythmia if left untreated may complicate to Atrial fibrillation or show manifestations of valvular problems.

Get CBC, X-Ray, ECG, Echocardiography, Stress tests, lipid profile done along with the required Imaging tests.

Maintain a healthy weight, avoid trans fat, spicy greasy food, switch to a healthy lifestyle.

Your treatment will depend upon the pathology detected.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
