What Causes Cold Sweat And Dizziness During A Flight?

Hi, I am a 44 yr old female, 5ft4, 73 kg. I have travelled extensively without any problems whilst flying except for 2 recent flights. On these flights after I had a light meal with no alcohol I have become extremely dizzy, light headed, cold sweats and close to passing out with major nausea but not actually vomiting. What could be the cause. I have never had issues with motion sickness.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since you are in your perimenopausal age you may experience these symptoms. You are suggested to visit a gynae and get your blood tests done to get an assessment of your hormone levels.

You are overweight, exercise & regulate your diet. Get enough calcium in your diet. Avoid smoking, alcohol & addictions if any.

Your treating doctor may suggest HRT or give certain medications to help you feel better. Get clinically assessed, get blood & imaging tests done. Get your symptoms managed at the earliest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
