What Causes Cold Sensation Of Hands And Feet Despite Having Levothyroxine For Thyroid Disorder?

Hi I am Ron, I had thyroid cancer about 2 years age. It was removed and I had the liquid iodine treatment. It was successful. No sign of cancer now. I am taking 200 mg of levothyroxine. Also about a year and a half ago I had Gastric sleeve surgery and so far I have lost 130 pounds. Over the last month my hands and feet are always cold and I get cold ( I was never cold before ) and I have gained about 10 pounds back. Do you think the cold problem is from the weight loss or could it be something to do with my thyroid meds?

Hi dear user
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

Weight gain and hand, feets cold are signs of hypothyroidism.
In my opinion your dosage of levothyroxine is not exact.

My advice is to consult an endocrinologist near you because you need to do the thyroid function tests(TSH) and to adjust the dose of levothyroxine accordingly.

I think that after the dose adjustment of thyroid hormone replacement, you will feel much better.

Hope I have clarified your doubts. If you have any further queries, please feel free to ask. I would be happy to help.
Thank you for using HCM.
Best regards
