What Causes Cold Along With Throat Infection And Fever?

have a cold with sinus/throat infection 4th day with fever 101 once during the day and ears hurting on day 2 and 3 had a little green mucus but is clear now no more fever day 4 but scratch throat and hacking cough feel better day 4 but worried about maybe catching walking pneumonia

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cold along with throat infection and fever which seems to be due to viral infection to your body and could be due to upper respiratory tract infection as well.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start with anti-inflammatory medication such as Levocetrizine. Avoid cold liquid intake and sip on warm water. You should take Tylenol for fever as well. Do tepid sponging if fever is increasing. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and get blood tests done. Start treatment after proper prescription and diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe antiviral/ antibacterial medications.
