What Causes Cloudy And Foul Smelling Urine?

I am 64 and I have been taking Detrusitol XL 4mg (one daily) to clam my over active bladder plus pumpkin seed oil to help in prostrate health. These are the only new items I have added to my hypertensive drugs. About 2 weeks ago I noticed my urine was a bit cloudy and had a foul smell. I increased ,y water intake and the problem disappeared for a a few days but it the problem has returned again. What could this be due to

Hello
Thanks for query .You are known to have Enlarged Prostate and taking medications (Detrusitol) prescribed by your family physician and now passing foul smelling and cloudy urine .

The foul smelling and cloudy urine is mostly due to UTI resulting from infection of stagnant residual urine due to Enlarged Prostate.

Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis with specific mention of Post void residual urine volume
3) Uroflowmetry

Further treatment regarding modality of treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.
