Hello Rohit,

Knee clicking could be a sign of weakness of the ligaments in the knee joints.
Also it is associated to your walking style, your footwear and body weight which falls on knee joint.
You have not mentioned your age and weight. Assuming your weight is normal for your height, if you just follow some strengthening exercises for you knee joint and use appropriate footwear you problem should solve.
In case you have pain you may need to visit an orthopaedic for a evaluation.

My knee is slightly swollen and I know I have fluid build up. It s been about 4 days and the swelling has gone down a little. I opted not to get it drained when I saw my dr on Monday, as I have a needle issue. Today, there seems to be a click in my knee when I walk. Any idea what that would be? Thank you.

I have a dull aching pain in my left knee. I feel it mostly behind my knee cap, and the side and sometimes below the knee cap. It also gets stiff and feel like if I make a wrong move something may pop or snap. When I walk I hear a clicking or popping noise. nobody else can hear it but me though. Also during the winter months my knee and just the left knee felt like it had an ice pack over it the whole time and would ache. What do you think is causing this and what this may be.

Hi, I have had my knees X-rayed, recently. The nurse called me to say that my X-ray showed that, yes indeed I have OA. But no further assistance was offered. I m doing my own research on the internet. I m a bit traumatised as my knees are morphing into two deformed parts. But no help offered to me. I don t want to have use a walker. I use to ride my bicycle, but I find that my knees swell up now. My knees click out when I walk. The cracking sound it makes as if its bone china. I m 63 years young. What s in the future for me?

After a fall from a bike I badly deflected my right leg. It is very swollen but 3 days later I have numbness to the knee to the right and below the knee which also occassionally gives a burning/stabbing sensation. X-rays at hospital were not thought to have shown any fractures. Can you advise please

Hi, I rolled my right ankle about 4 weeks ago. After about 2-3 weeks of rest and icing my right ankle, it felt pretty good. Good enough to start jogging again. I could walk and jog with no pain. On the forth week I tried to get back into soccer. Before the game I laced up my shoes and ankle brace then stood straight up to go for a jog. Immediately when I stood up I noticed a sharp ripping pain, across the bottom of my shin maybe near the top of the extensor tendons (if that s the right name for it, the tendon attached to the tibia), moving from the outside to the inside of my foot. I tried loosening the ankle brace but still the ripping pain continued when I stood up. I completely loosened the ankle brace and the ripping pain left and I could jog again. I decided not to play and started to examine the pain. The ripping pain only occurs when I over-extend my right leg or when I am standing/extending my leg and touch/grab my lower shin/upper ankle area. I had an X-Ray done on my lower leg/ankle but I haven t heard back from the doctor so I figured there wasn t any issues with my bones or ligaments. That leads me to believe it is a partial tear(s) in the muscle or tendon. Could you please give me a general idea if I need to have it surgically repaired or will I be able to continue resting and wait it out and eventually it will heal properly all on its own? Thanks Adam Cyr

I just had hip surgery and my physical therapist said that when they got in the joint they saw bone discoloration. She wasn t able to explain much past that. Do you have any ideas about what it might mean? The surgery involved fixing a labral tear and sanding some bone down as well.
