Hello Rohit,

Knee clicking could be a sign of weakness of the ligaments in the knee joints.
Also it is associated to your walking style, your footwear and body weight which falls on knee joint.
You have not mentioned your age and weight. Assuming your weight is normal for your height, if you just follow some strengthening exercises for you knee joint and use appropriate footwear you problem should solve.
In case you have pain you may need to visit an orthopaedic for a evaluation.

I have a dull aching pain in my left knee. I feel it mostly behind my knee cap, and the side and sometimes below the knee cap. It also gets stiff and feel like if I make a wrong move something may pop or snap. When I walk I hear a clicking or popping noise. nobody else can hear it but me though. Also during the winter months my knee and just the left knee felt like it had an ice pack over it the whole time and would ache. What do you think is causing this and what this may be.

Hi, I have had my knees X-rayed, recently. The nurse called me to say that my X-ray showed that, yes indeed I have OA. But no further assistance was offered. I m doing my own research on the internet. I m a bit traumatised as my knees are morphing into two deformed parts. But no help offered to me. I don t want to have use a walker. I use to ride my bicycle, but I find that my knees swell up now. My knees click out when I walk. The cracking sound it makes as if its bone china. I m 63 years young. What s in the future for me?

I have always been a runner but last November after feeling fine my leg started burning one each side of my right knee and I was unable to run after 3 miles. I would try to run in the weeks following but with the same result- I couldn t stand on the leg after a mile or so of jogging. Then it would start to hurt while I was sitting and the other knee started hurting as well. Now my right knee makes a clicking sound when I walk up steps and hurts in the front- aching and sometimes intensely sharp..... Is this something I can chalk up to being inflexible and having to do more yoga and stretching or should I get my knee checked out further?

2years after tkr, have burning, stiffness after standing in one place for a few minutes, pressure behind knee, actually pressure discomfort in back of leg from thigh to calf. The stiffness after standing for just a short time is what really bothers me. Went through usual therapy and achieved excellent flexibility. Sorry, don t know exact number. Still ride my recumbent bike, walk every day. Within 10 minutes of walking, knee starts to burn. Also am not really steady on my feet anymore because of the difference of leg length. I have neuropathy, but not severe, and wonder if that might cause some of the burning.

I had meniscus repair surgery in my right knee 10 days ago, and have noticed a red rash on the leg that I had surgery on. Very itchy, and runs from the middle of my shin up to mid thigh. Is this something I should be worried about or is this a normal reaction?
