What Causes Clicking Noise At The Nape Of The Neck And Head Pressure?

My upper neck area and head almost feels like it s going to pop or worse randomly throughout the day. I will just bend my head slightly and stop suddenly because it feels like it will pop. There is also a pressure from the back of my head to the front behind my eyes and frontal lobe area. What could this be?

Neurologist 's  Response
Hello!
Welcome on HCM!

Your symptoms could be related to tension type headache. Chronic degeneration of the cervical spine and occipital neuralgia can mimic this clinical situation too.
For this reason, I would recommend consulting with your GP for a careful physical check up and a cervical spine X ray study.
A brain and cervical spine MRI would help exclude other possible causes.
You should discuss with a neurologist on these issues too.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Best wishes, Dr. Aida
