Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Chronic Vomiting And Diarrhea While Suffering From Sinusitis?
Starting on the 25th I was throwing up for 12 hours then the next evening I had about a day and a half of diharea. I ve had sinus congestion and gross phlem for about a month and wonder if they can be related. I finally went to the walk in clinic yesterday because of the sinus congestion and the doc said I had an upper respitory infection and prescribed some antibiotic, which I m now taking. I m feeling a lot better today. My questions are, did I have the flu earlier this week, or was the vomiting and diarrhea something else? And am I still contagious? I was hoping to go visit my 85 year old mother tomorrow but she is concerned I may still be contagious.
Hello there I have read through your question and would like to tell you that your flu and GI upset are related or not can only be determined on a blood test and stool culture. If you have been relieved after taking the antibiotic course then most likely they were related. I would advise you to wait for two more days before visiting your mother as you may still be infectious. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
