General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
I went through your query and understand your concern.

I'll answer your query considering two scenarios.

01) If the fracture is fixed properly then there is nothing to worry. Following trauma/fracture sweeling of the area is common which leads to throbbing type of pain. It will reduce after sometime. To reduce pain your daughter may take Advil 400 whenever needed.

02) If there was an open wound at the site of injury, infection of the site is possible. In this case your daughter will have fever. Infection leads to accumulation of pus which causes throbbing pain. If fever is absebt, forget about this scenario. If she develops fever, I suggest you to consult your daughter's treating doctor immediately.

I hope I answered your question.

You can always contact me whenever needed.

Regards,
Dr. Prathap Kumar
