What Causes Chronic Diarrhea?

Hello, I have really watery poos and have for 2 days now, I don t feel sick in the stomach, but am going to the tolite 3-10 times a day probably it s almost like I m peeing poo, should I be worried? I have been on some medications like codine, amitriptyline, and magnesium.

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have chronic diarrhea which could be due to number of factors such as food intolerance , food allergy, parasitic infection or inflammatory bowel disease.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to

- Take plenty of fluids to rehydrate.

- Take diet rich in multivitamins and avoid any oily sharp and fast food.

- Take diet rich in fibres as well.

- For now eat light and non spicy, eat fresh fruits and vegetables and eat fruits like banana.


I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like ornidazole , albendazole , omeprazole along with loperamide.
