What Causes Chronic Cough?

Hello I am experiencing horrible coughing that I have been told is due to exasperated asthma and my oxygen levels are low. I am taking Arnuity Ellipta Discus Ventolin (alburterol) in haler Albuterol Nebulizar Prednisone Azithromycin - just in case there is more to this as we wait for xrays to be read by technician. I had a very bad day of coughing. This evening is better but there is a unbearable pain in my ribs when I cough. I had my husband wrap my ribs tightly with an athletic bandage but when I cough I feel like I am going to pass out with pain. I took 600MG Ibuprofen around 4pm. Can I also take Gabapentin?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your clinical history is concerned, the exact cause of your cough should be evaluated at any cost. So do a full blood count with differential and take medications accordingly.

If fever is present or found in your blood test then Azithromycin can be added. So, nothing to be worried at all. Do take treatment as per your report only.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
