Hi,

The word ''wheezing'' itself is most indicative of a condition called as asthma. The cause in your case seems to be asthma hence the coughing is going on as a secondary manifestation of mild allergic asthma. Also, you need to rule out cardiac reasons for your symptoms. Consult your doctor for clinical evaluation, auscultation of chest for typical wheezing sound or what we call as rhonchi and quite classical of asthma. Do:
* Relevant tests of blood
* X-ray chest to rule out any lung or pleura pathology
* Pulmonary function tests
All these will lead to a proper diagnosis and if this is asthma then you will have to take the bronchodilator inhalers and oral medications to have a proper relief.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
