Hello,
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
Probable diagnosis:
1-COPD (Chronic
obstructive pulmonary disease)
2-Allergic cough
Whom to consult :
Pulmonologist/General physician
The symptoms you have mentioned suggest the possibility of two unrelated conditions,They are "COPD" and "allergic cough".COPD is a disease of smokers and present with
chronic cough and
wheezing.Allergic cough also present with similar symptoms a detailed history and evaluation may be needed to confirm the diagnosis.
I suggest you to consult a good pulmonologist and get the following done:
1.X-ray chest as a first line investigation.
2-Sputum examination to rule out TB(
tuberculosis)
3-
Spirometry to assess the severity of the disease.
Other investigations like
CT scan may be needed based on initial evaluation will be advised by your doctor.
As of now you can do the following for symptomatic relief.
1.Avoid
smoking.
2.Antihistamines like "levocetrezine"
3.nasal decongestants.
4.You can have nebulization which can be easily provided by a trained nurse from a nearby clinic.
Hope this information helps.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
