What Causes Chronic Chest Pain While Coughing And Laughing?

hi i am a female and only 21 years old, and in good shape. i have been having chest pains on the left side of my sternum for about three days, it hurts really bad when i laugh, cough, try to get up from laying down, or try to switch sides when i am sleeping. i do not want to go to a doctor because i thought this would go away on it is own. but now it is really starting to irritate me. what should i do?

Chest pain that increases on coughing and movements may be due to pleuritis/muscular/gastritis.

Do you experience low grade fever or appetite loss?

If I were your treating doctor,I would recommend-
-Local application of diclofenac gel or oral analgesic like acetaminophen for 3 days along with PPis like omeprazole.
If pain doesnot resolve or is associated with above mentioned symptoms,get a chest X ray done to rule out pleural infection.
Further management depends upon the results of investigations.
