Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of feeling like going to bathroom in spite you have passed bowel movement. You do not have this problem if you are standing or being active, but get the problem while sitting or in a car for more than 10 minutes. Got your
colonoscopy,
prostate examination applied nitro/petrolatum and so on. Now they say it may be a nerve problem as you have this problem over one and half year.
My thoughts:
Since you have this problem only on sitting it may be a problem locally with the
anal canal or may be a nerve problem although the nerve problem would persist irrespective of your posture.
I would advise you the following:
You should consult a Surgical Gastroenterologist.
Per-
rectal examination will give the maximum information about the tone of the sphincter, contractility, ability to hold, any
rectal prolapse predisposing the condition and so on.
MRI of the thoracic and
lumbar spine will give an idea about any compression on the
spinal cord or nerve roots.
Further treatment will depend upon the findings.
Another point of importance is that you have to keep watch on the foods and beverages to find out any specific one causing or enhancing your symptoms.
If you have any stress and/or anxiety and thus causing IBS like symptoms, you have to keep them under control.
