What Causes Chronic Bladder Pain In A Child?

My son is 11 years old. On Monday he started complaining of his bladder that is sore. I noticed while he was bathing that he is struggling to pass urine. Our Urologist send his urine for testing and came back negative. On the Ultra Sound clear signs of his bladder thickening. Doctor said I must give him pain meds for know. I went to the Pharmacy bought Urispas and it seems to me this was helping. Tonight I noticed that he is struggling again. Please help
