What Causes Chills, Poor Appetite, Fatigue, Muscle Pain And Prickly Skin Rashes?
19 yr old female has 103-105 deg fever, ocassional chills, no appetite, fatigue, muscle pain to the point of not being able to lift arms. Rash on upper legs and trunk (not welts or spots) prickly rash. Recently had strep throat. Lived in dorms at college. Been going on for 5 weeks. Dr. s have ruled out: Meningitis, toxic shock, mono. Spinal tap done and misc blood tests. ????

Could it be a viral or a tick infection? Did they take a blood culture or was the skin rash examined microscopically?
Also, I want to know the blood counts especially eosinophilia as a parasitic infection can also cause all these things and in that eosinophils will be raised and you may have a positive stool culture.
