What Causes Chesty Cough On Quitting Smoking?

Hi there, I am an ex smoker and have recently started running to increase my fitness levels however after I run i get this chesty cough and last night as I was going to bed I was coughing and tasted blood after coughing but didnt bring up any blood. Just wanting to know if this is normal seeing as though I only quit about 4 months ago?

Hi, thanks for your query.
Chesty wet coughing can be because of allergy or infection. Empirically you can take anti histamine + mucolytics combination drugs twice daily for 2 weeks along with expectorant cough syrup.
