What Causes Chest Pain?

The center of my chest popped and pain is coming and going. Feels like i cracked my chest plate and its kind of hard to breath without feeling some pain. Im very worried because im uninsured and cant afford to go to the hospital. What is wrong? Is it serious? This has been happening for about a year or 2 and gets worse as years go by..

Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your problem and situation.
Since you are having problem since 1 year, I think you have anxiety and related GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) associated symptoms.
But better to get done ECG to rule out cardiac cause for your problem.
If ECG is normal than no need to worry much for cardiac cause.
Anxiety related symptoms are more suggestive in your case. GERD is due to laxity of gastroesophageal sphincter. So acid of the stomach tends to come up in the esophagus and cause central chest pain. So treatment of anxiety is needed to control GERD symptoms. So avoid stress and anxiety. Be relax and calm.
Avoid hot and spicy food. Start proton pump inhibitor. Don't worry, you will be alright.
