Hello, I have been experiencing a racing heart or palpitations. Things get worse on physical exertion, lying down or being in the bath. I m experiencing mild breathlessness at times. I do not have a cough and I don t feel like I have a temperature. The on call Dr last week prescribed antibiotics as a precaution but he said there was only a mild wheeze and harsh sounds on my chest. I have used my blue inhaler and this has shown no improvement. I say my regular GP today who booked me in for an ecg with nurse for a weeks time as I m going on holiday. I m 38 years old go to gym swim and run. But this last week I m out of breath walking 100 metres. Obviously this has now caused me anxiety which is making my breathing worse. I had a baby three months ago and lost 1.5 litres of blood after a traumatic birth I was put on high dose iron tablets 600mg everyday. At six weeks I had a mass haemorrhage at home and lost another 1.5 litres of blood was rushed to hospital. I had retained placenta which caused the bleed and I had an operation to correct this. I continued my iron tablets but started tapering the dose down . The breathlessness chest pain and palpitations have occurred over the last week? Any advice please
