What Causes Chest Pain During Pregnancy?

I am 39 weeks pregnant and for the past three days I have had chest pain so severe that I cannot eat or drink anything. Anytime I try to eat or drink, I get so sick to my stomache because of the pain that I throw it back up. I haven t been able to keep anything at all down for a whole 24 hours now.... Would medically inducing my labor now be a possibility with my symptoms?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Severe Epigastric pain and discomfort in late pregnancy can be due to either pre eclampsia in pregnancy in which there is increased blood pressure in the mother requiring immediate delivery, or it can be due to compression of stomach by the growing uterus.
I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist as soon as possible so that you can be properly examined and treated accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
