Hello,

After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that generally GERD itself is a cause of chest pain but breathless is not a symptom of GERD, so it is recommended for you to get immediate medical attention, go to ER and get a basic cardiac evaluation done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhanu Partap, Cardiologist

im a 25 yr old male, been having chest pains for multiple years and recently diagnosed with gerd. however, the chest pains have been increasingly painful and am now having premature ventricular contractions as well. I have had an ekg in the past year that showed nothing was wrong. Should I continue to be worried about the chest pain? or is that a symptom of gerd that I just have to live with?

Hello, I ve been having this light pressure and tingling feeling in my head. For the last week I ve been having severe chest pains and found out that it was due to GERD. prior to knowing the cause I was quite stressed wondering what it could be. It comes and goes, the tingling and pressure. I m wondering if this is something I should Be concerned with and if I should make an appointment immediately or if I should wait to see if it subsides in its own. I ve been feeling this way since the day after my first trip to the ER last Friday.

I have SVT but my episodes are typically few and short lived. For the past two weeks my heart rate has been fairly consistently over 100 and also raises/drops quickly. (114-90-110...) I have been tired, short of breath and unable to lower my heart rate by myself and make it last for more than a few minutes before it raises again. My fingers are also blueish and swollen around the nails. I am frustrated and not sure what to do. I see a Cardiologist in a week but I haven t been able to sleep much and have been having chest pain and lightheadedness more than I am used to.

Hi, I am a 43 year old female that smokes!!! I have been having a few health problems in the last 2 years. It all started 2 years ago when I got bloodwork done and my Doctor told me my blood sodium level was a point below normal, she told me to drink gatorade to restore my level. Eventually the symptoms associated with low sodium levels went away. Then last year I went to her with similar symptoms and more bloodwork was done, the results were that I had Hypothyroidism and a B12 deficiency, she put me on synthyroid 100mcg and 1000 mcg of vitamin B12 pills. I made her do more bloodwork 3 months later and things were looking up. In May of last year I was feeling lousy and went to the emergency room because I was having palpations and they found my synthroid dose was too high and lowered it to 88mcg, after a while I started feeling better. I told the emergency room doctor about heart problems running in my family so they ordered a stress test which came back good, they told me I wouldn't have a heart attack from blocked arteries. When I told my family doctor (years ago) about the heart problems in my family she told me " you don't need to worry about that because it doesn't affect women until menopause" and wouldn't send me for any tests!!!!!! In December 2013 I began having palpations, so I asked the doctor for more bloodwork and everything came back within normal levels, at that time I showed her that I was having edema in my ankles, she checked my blood pressure which was 117/74, my heart rate was 88, so she sent me for an E.C.G. It supposedly showed that everything was normal except my resting heart rate at that time was 92 b.p.m, so my doctor put me on 150mg of Rythmol 2 x a day. On the 25th of January I called 811 (nurses hotline for health inquiries), they patched me through to 911 who immediately dispatched an ambulance because my symptoms sounded like a heart attack!!! When the paramedics did an E.C.G on me it showed I was in sinus tachycardia and left atrial enlargement, the E.R doctors put in a request for a holter monitor and an echocardiogram. I saw my doctor on the following Monday and she said she "doesn't believe it's my heart" and gave me anti-anxiety meds. With all the things I have just told you what else could it be? Even with the Rythmol I am still having light-headedness, edema, breathlessness, occasional chest pains and fast heart rate; this morning it was 110b.p.m, now though my blood pressure is dropping yesterday it was 107/68. It normally has been pretty close to 120/80. What do you suggest?

I am a fairly healthy 53 year old woman in good health, 5 7 1/2 and 175lbs. . I take daily supplements of Oscal, Synthroid .125, Multi Vitamin, Vitamin E. I moved from Missouri to Ohio 4 months ago and the move has been without major incident. I am used to walking 3 miles about 3x/week without any issues. Just this week, in the last 4 days, I have noticed that when I start the walk, my chest is getting very tight in the very center of my chest and it s somewhat painful. Thursday and Friday, I was able to continue the walk to approx. 2.25miles, but today, within about 100 yards of walking along the river, the vice like pain in my chest came on again, and I have turned around and come home and taken a baby aspirin. I feel better now that I m inside, although I know that I m no longer walking. I have no pain down my arms, I m not dizzy but I ve been tired most of the day with a headache and I can feel sinus pressure. I m not sure if I m now allergic to something outside that I might not have been exposed to before, but I ve lived here for 4 months now and been on walks for at least 2 months here before this. Thoughts?

I have degenerative disc in the neck area with some bulging and herniated discs. It often have pains in my left arm which also sometimes spreads to diffrent locations in my chest causing discomfort. In august I had several heart tests done and the Dr saw no evidence of a heart problem. These chest pains are unsettling and I wondering if they are related to the the neck.
