What Causes Chest Pain And Breathlessness?
I ve been having sharp pains in my chest which causes it hard for me to breathe but I m not sure what it is..I ve been to the doctor and I don t have asthma, is there anything that could cause my chest to get these pains? and what can I do to prevent them?

Chest pain can be related to any structure in the chest from the skin inwards. This means that it can come from the skin, the muscles, the bones, the esophagus, the lungs, the heart.
The fact that the pain is present on taking a deep breath may suggest conditions such as : (1)pleuritis - inflammation of the lining of the lungs
(2)costocondritis- inflammation of the cartilage between the sternum and ribs
(3)muscle aches
(4)pericarditis- inflammation of the lining around the heart
Your doctor may want to assess to see if any of these are present and treat accordingly
