As per your complain it seems that you are suffering Chronic Upper Respiratory Tract Infection and the symptoms of lingering head and chest cold seems to be due to it.. As it is a viral infection it is true that it will resolve as the virus will complete its cycle in human body. But as it is lingering since more than a month I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like blood tests, chest x ray, throat swab culture etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. As of now you can take medications to ease the symptoms like anti histamines like Levocetrizine, decongestants like Pseudoephadrine and mucolytics like Ambroxol..
