What Causes Canker Sores On The Tongue?

What causes my canker sores on my tongue? It seems to have started back when I first started my methotrexate treatments. Then it would go away after I stopped taking it. However, it now happens all of the time and even when I m not on the methotrexate. I have had it biopsied and tried many different medications and rinses and nothing seems to work. I can t get rid of them for many weeks once one sprouts up. Any advice? Thank you. Susan

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain Methotrexate Is a drug used for a number of conditions like Arthritis, cancer etc and Canker Sores in mouth can be a side effect of it..

Once the body immunity gets compromised there can be a repeated episodes of Canker Sores in mouth..

You should also gets other conditions evaluated like Vitamin B12, iron levels, acid reflux etc that are commonly known causes for mouth ulcers..

In case if all other treatments like Vitamin B complex supplements, Steroid gels and mouthwash, lysine supplements etc does not work then ORAL STEROID THERAPY is commonly tried as the last resort to treat mouth ulcers..
