What Causes Canker Sores In Mouth?

Why do I get multiple canker sores in my mouth? I get them on my tongue, my tonsils and my gums. I'll go a month or two without any, then out of nowhere I get multiple ones. I've tried switching toothpastes. My diet is very healthy and I avoid alcohol. I definitely get them chronically. Will they ever subside? Thanks!

Hi..
Thanks for writing to us..

Canker sores in mouth that occurs chronically is termed as a condition Recurring Apthous Stomatitis.
There can a pretty number of causes and if there is a recurrence, you should walk in to an Oral Physician and get examined.
You should get investigations done like Serum Vitamin B12 and Hb% done along with fasting and post pandial blood sugar and an allergy test..
Along with these reports upload an image of the sores to us..
I will evaluate in detail about the exact cause and discuss with you accordingly..
As of now take Vitamin B complex and lysine supplements and do warm saline gargling..

Hope this information helps..

Regards.
