What Causes Canker Sores All Over The Mouth?

hi, back in the begining of november, I was diagnosed with mono. The typical symptoms such as fever cold, sweats, fatigue, etc have subsided and i feel relatively fine. The only issure I have been having the past 3 weeks is I keep getting bad canker sores all over my mouth. There is also one large one on my tonsil that hurts when I eat and the pain shoots up into my ear and down my neck. Is this associated with mono because I have never had canker sores this bad before. Also how can I get them to stop?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from a severe case of Apthous ULcers or Canker Sores and an ulcer over the tonsil seems to be due to either a canker sore or infection in throat..
But as you do not have other classical features of mono like fever, cold etc it does not seems like mono..

I would suggest you to start gargling with warm saline solution.
Gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
Take a Vitamin B complex daily..
You can take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
Avoid spicy and hard foods..
Take a soft and bland diet..
You can also suck ice and do cool water rinses..
In case of no improvement consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..
