What Causes Calf Muscle Pain After Undergoing Hysterectomy?
My mom had hysterectomy on July 28 and started having leg pain about 5 days ago. She went to the Dr. and they did an ultrasound and found no clots. They put her on Medrol for 6 days. She is on day 3 and not getting much relief. It is her right calf muscle.. from her knee down. She describes it as a Charley Horse that will not go away. She is taking Tylenol and the Medrol. She does have a followup appt. next week. Any ideas what might be causing this and how she can get some relief?
I have studied your case. Yes first possibility must be considered of vein thrombosis, ultrasound can be repeated. Muscle cramps can be reduced by Massaging the cramped muscle with your hands or oil Drinking plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration Stretching your leg muscles or riding a stationary cycle. Taking diet rich in calcium and potassium or oral supplements of the same Check your vit B12 and Vit D 3 levels.
Till time, avoid lifting weights, You can consult physiotherapist for help. Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief.
