What Causes Burning Sensation While Urination?

Sir/Madam,I am 31 & stay in India. I have burning sensation while urinating, have this problem since 3 years now, Urologist suggested urine routine test whose results showed no infections. Actually, this started when I visited a prostitute in Canada 3 years back, I din t have sex with her but just dry kissing and squeezing her body. I din t touch her vagina but she touched my penis with her hand when I had already ejaculated. That was my first and last visit to a pros.I have no other health problem and I am fit and fine. Since, about 2 years my grandmother aged 88 also has burning sensation while urinating. I am worried that she might have caught my infection as we live together and use same toilet. Her urine routine & culture aslo revealed no infection and her pelvis & abdomen scan also was normal and good I seek your best advice

Hi,

Get a urine culture sensitivity done and take an antibiotic which is sensitive to the organism colonising your urine. How is the urine flow? Is there a decreased stream of micturition? If yes there could be a stricture in the urinary tract which has to be addressed first. Elderly females will have urinary incontinence and more risk of urine infection. I suggest the same treatment for your granny as well following culture sensitivity. Besides it is better if she applies vaginal estrogen cream and long term intake of night dose of antibiotic.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Safarulla SH
