What Causes Burning Sensation Throughout The Body?

My adult son has been having symptoms of acid burning sensation throughout his whole body from time to time. Been to doctors and was told blood work was fine, heart fine and not having a stroke. Very concerned. Could this be start of something like MS?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

MS is a possible cause though there are other causes as well. Abnormal sensations such as burning are called neuropathy, it can be temporary or permanent

Other causes include: (1) low levels of vitamin b12, folate
(2)diabetes though this may have be ruled out by the blood tests
(3)trauma to the nerves
(4)liver or kidney disease
(5)side effect of medication
(6)thyroid disease
(7)exposure to toxins
(8)infection

Blood tests for thyroid, liver and kidney function may also have been though vitamin levels may not have been done.

Though your GP can do these blood tests, you may want to consider a neurologist to assess him.

I hope this helps
