What Causes Burning Sensation On The Top Of The Foot After An Injury About A Year Ago?

I badly injured my ankle about a year ago. Never went to hosputal so not sure if i broke some small bones or just badly sprained it. Recently started running again and although its not painful i have a burning sensation on the top of my foot. What could this be? Many thanks

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The burning sensation that you are having is a nerve related issue. This can happen due to a nerve root compression at the level of spine or due to low levels of vitamin B12.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Praveen Tayal, Orthopaedic Surgeon
