What Causes Burning Sensation On The Fingertips While On Medication For Tremors?

My wife is a 50-year old, African-American woman, who suffered a stroke 2 years ago. She is doing fine but takes medication for hand tremors. Recently, she is experiencing a burning sensation in her fingertips. What could be causing this? Medicine for hand tremors Benztropine MES .5 MG.

Hi,

Benztropine Mesylate (MES). 5 mg can cause finger numbness but not burning sensation. If it is unilateral ,it could be due to thalamic stroke. Burning sensation bilateral is otherwise caused by small fiber neuropathy commonest cause being nutritional (deficiency of Vitamin B1, B6 & B12).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
