What Causes Burning Sensation On The Body In An Elderly?

My 90 yr old male neighbor is experiencing an all over burning sensation on the skin surface. He has questioned his Dr. many times about this and they just prescribe him a low dose of Oxycodine. Could this be a condition of fibromyalgia or something else?

Hi.
As per your case history of burning sensation on body, my treatment advice is -
1. It is mostly due to vitamin b12 deficiency.
2. It can also occur due to diabetes and hypertension. So get it checked if not done already.
3. Take a vitamin b12 supplement once daily.
4. Other treatment options are oral gabapentin, oral amitryptiline taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
