Hello, I have burning and scratchy feeling in the back of my throat; periodical burning sensation on my tongue; bitter taste and the throat looks terrible - red and white patches and the lymph nodes keep get bigger on both sides of the throat. I also have burning sensation in my chest. Currently taking amoxicillin, but so far no impovement. Can it be allergy? Or something more serious?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The red white patches on the throat are usually related to a bacterial tonsillitis.
I suggest to finish the antibiotic therapy with Amoxicillin.
I also suggest using a throat spray for antibacterial properties.
I recommend to rest and drink a lot of liquids.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
