What Causes Burning Sensation In Upper Chest After Taking Carafate?
I started taking carafate for esophagitis. I take it one hour before meals and at bed time. I have a burning sensation in my upper chest after taking carafate. I started taking it to releave the burning but do not find relief. This is my third day on the medication.

Probably carafatebis not effective and you may consult your doctor for change to some other salt.Mucain gel before meals is soothening and pantaprazole is helpful.Avoid bitterfoods,spices, amoke and alcohol.By process of exclusion take diet that suit you, and avoid heavy meals before bed time
