Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of burning sensation in the throat and severe productive cough which is due to chronic infection of upper respiratory tract ( granular pharyngitis ) and long standing lung infection as well. The symptoms can also occur due to post nasal drip. Sometimes burning sensation occur due to acid reflux so eat light and non spicy and eat small meals .I would suggest you to consult ENT Specialist as you will require thorough evaluation. You should take combination of antibiotic along with decongestants. You need anti-inflammatory medication as well. Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist for acid reflux. Drink Warm liquids like tea or warm water with honey. Avoid cold beverages. Get adequate rest and do salt water gargles several times a day. You should incorporate some lifestyle changes like avoid spicy, fried and oily food. Drink plenty of water to keep the throat moist and prevent dehydration.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
