Noted the history of surgery for fistula-in-ano in 2010, feeling bleeding per rectum since one month, report says no fistula on fistulogram, some scratch present, applied Dettol locally and felt the burning, area has become dry, some pimples have come out, wants advise. I would advise you the following: Bleeding per rectum can be due to either piles or fissure that can easily develop due to previous surgery. Hence it is better to get per-rectal digital examination, ano-proctoscopy and colonoscopy to see for the cause and get it corrected if found so. If there is fissure you need to have sitz bath in a tub with warm water. Laxative/ stool softener High fiber diet. If there is another cause get it treated accordingly. The local problem of the peri-anal area looks to be reaction to Dettol, please stop using Dettol, use only Liquid Povidone iodine. Remain under treatment of a General Surgeon.
