What Causes Burning Sensation During Unprotected Sex?

I just recently started to experience burning feelings during intercourse with my wife. We always have unprotected sex. We were both given clean bill of health less than six months ago. My wife just experienced these sensations recently, the sensations have become more apparent. I only expirence it during intercourse. What could be the problem?

Hi,

As you are complaining of burning sensation post sex , it could be UTI. I advice you both to:
- Take a course of antibiotics once a day for 5 days
- maintain strict hygiene
- Avoid vaginal tampons (wife)
- Daily Sitz bath
- Analgesics( Ibuprofen ) to get relieved of pain
- wear cotton innerwear.
- urine routine

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya Vasudevan, General & Family Physician
