Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Burning Sensation, Discoloration And Swelling In Thigh Post Knee Replacement?
Burning, swelling in my thigh, cafe, foot with discolored skin. Turns dark purple in warm water and I have pain down my left side of my thigh, can not stand to have it touched in any way. Can not sleep in my bed because of the pain I must sleep in a recliner. This has been going on now for over 3 months after I had my knee replaced.
* There is a strong possibility of an underlying hematoma between different layers of thigh fascia and muscles.
* An immediate evaluation with soft tissueultrasound is mandatory to find out the root cause and treat accordingly.
Till that time, ice application will serve best relieving tool here.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
