Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Burning Sensation And Numbness In The Thigh?
Over the last few days I have experienced a sudden intense burning in my left thigh, which seems to become hard and numb. I ve had this happen three times over the past week. The duration of each episode is short, certainly less than a minute. This happens for no apparent reason.
You probably have got a condition called meralgia paresthetica. This is a pain due to irritation of a nerve in the thigh. This is mostly not a serious issue. The nerve is mostly trapped in the muscles or tendons. Physiotherapy is of a lot of help for this condition.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
General & Family Physician
