What Causes Burning At The Stitching Site?

It s been 3-4 days since I got stitches, each time I take the dressing off there s a yellow like crust on the dressing and now there is a yellowish goo where the stitches are. It doesn t hurt it s not swollen, it does burn if I rotate my hand which I think is normal. Anything to be concerned about?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

The burning sensation may be due to mild bacterial infection. Consult the dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis.Apply antibiotic cream like sisomycine with alovera gel. Take short course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. Cold compresses might help to reduce the burning sensation.

Hope this helps.
