What Causes Burning And Tingling Sensation In The Arm?

I have a burning and tingling sensation in the palm of my right hand that includes all four fingers and my thumb. It is only in the palm and the underside of the fingers. Does not include the top of my hand nor does it extend into the arm. This only occurs at night when I lie on my right side (preferred method of sleeping). It wakes me several times during the night. Thank you.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi
Welcome to healthcaremagic
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. I think you are having carpal tunnel syndrome. It is confirmed by nerve conduction test. Its treatment is rest and analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief. I found good results with local injection of triamcilone 40 mg in the tunnel. If not relieved by triamcilone then sometimes operative treatment is required. You can discuss with your doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to help you.
Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
