What Causes Bumps On Back Of Neck Near Hairline?

I have bumps on the back of my neck (near my hairline). They don t itch, burn, sting or anything. I found them when I touched the back of my neck. They appear to be in a patterns of two and in a U shape. There are a couple of stray bumps that don t fit this pattern, also. I wondered if it was ring worm.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain bumps on the back of neck near the hair line can be due to hair follicle infection known as Folliculitis and can be due to Staphylococcus bacterial infection...
For confirmation consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and advise you investigations like blood tests and also microscopic examination of scrapings from the bumps and treat you accordingly..
You can be advised a course of topical application of antibiotic and steroid ointments over the bumps..
A script of oral antibiotics can also be given for faster resolution of infection..
Avoid scratching or touching the bumps to prevent spread of infection..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
